DESCRIPTION
POSTPILL is an Emergency contraceptive pill also known as the morning-after pill. POSTPILL contains only one tablet and a single hormone called Levonorgestrel. World Health Organisation (W.H.O.) recommends that taking one tablet of 1.5mg Levonorgestrel like POSTPILL within 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sex can give a 59-95% chance of preventing pregnancy.
Unlike older brands of Emergency contraceptive pills, POSTPILL only contains one tablet because W.H.O. recommends that one tablet is easier to use and more effective than two tablets, 12 hours apart. POSTPILL should be used after any unprotected sex or even if your contraception fails e.g. Your condom tears or you miss your pills or after rape. The tablet should be taken as soon as possible after sex preferably within the first 12 hours.
